Literacy Volunteers of Sullivan County, Inc. (LVSC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to raising the literacy rate in the community through free, one-to-one adult training. All services are free and confidential. LVSC trains volunteer tutors and matches them with adult literacy students for GED preparation, English as a second language, and students who want to improve their overall literacy skills.

The Literacy Center also features a READ IT AGAIN BOOKSTORE: Most hardcovers $1.50, paperbacks $0.75 and children’s books $0.25.

  • Open Mondays, Tuesdays & Fridays from 10:00am-5:00pm
  • Wednesdays & Thurdays from 10:00am-6:00pm
  • Saturdays from 10:00am-4:00pm.

The Literacy Center is located at 63 North Street in Monticello.
